In 2024, Feldman, Kleidman, Collins & Sappe LLP’s (FKC&S) 32-year-old client from Stormville, New York was stopped in the right lane on a major highway with his lights and brake lights on. Two tractor-trailers were approaching behind him. The first driver was paying attention and safely moved left without incident. The second driver claimed he did not have enough time to perceive and react. He struck FKC&S’s client in the rear, sending him off the road and into the trees.
FKC&S’s client sustained a skull fracture, brain bleeds and substantial vision loss. He is now legally blind and can see only shadows in close proximity. Prior to the accident, he was employed in the IT field earning $100,000 a year and can no longer work due to his injuries. His case was settled at a pre-suit mediation for $4,250,000.
