Jeff Feldman successfully defended a local gastroenterologist in a case involving a splenic rupture following a colonoscopy. The jurors found that the splenic rupture did not occur as a result of claimed excessive force but rather occurred despite proper technique of the endoscopist. Although there are only about 100 such cases in the world’s medical literature, this is the second such case Jeff has tried successfully and the third for our firm. Obviously, the frequency of this occurrence is severely under-reported in the medical literature.
