Jeff Feldman recently successfully defended a local obstetrician in which plaintiff claimed that physician failed to properly reduce a nuchal cord resulting in the strangulation and death of the fetus. We were able to prove that the cord was not nuchal because it was abnormally short and that it had thus avulsed from the umbilicus prior to the head crowning resulting in a still birth that was neither predictable nor preventable.
