On February 18, 2017, a 56 year-old food services director for a nursing home was driving on Route 211 E in Walkill. The defendant, admittedly distracted by something, crossed over into plaintiff’s lane and caused a crash. The plaintiff’s car was totaled and she suffered bilateral knee and back injuries. She had surgery to both knees and is still out of work. The case was put into suit and the insurance carrier then offered all available coverage from both the owner and driver of the defendant car, $150,000, before an answer was even served.
